TOP SPOTS FOR A COFFEE IN DERRY, ACCORDING TO INDEPENDENT DERRY.

Who doesn't love a good cup of coffee? If you're like us, and can't function on a daily basis without a huge cup of it, we're going to suggest a few great spots for it in our city ☕️...

1) Primrose Cafe

Whether it's down along the river front or in their secret garden on Carlisle Road, Primrose Cafe will be sure to provide you with a great cup of coffee. Their Arabica coffee beans come locally and fresh from Johnsons Coffee in Lisburn and are roasted to create Primrose's 'Bellagio Blend.' The coffee is then served up in several dainty floral mugs, which just makes the coffee so much more enjoyable in our opinion 🌼... And what's even better, Independent Derry Cardholders can get a FREE cup of coffee (or tea) with every purchase Mon-Weds at both Primrose Cafe's.

2) St Jude Coffee (The Yellow Yard)

Not your standard coffee shop, but one that will amaze you and has been a new discovery for many people since we posted our last blog on this place. St Jude Coffee is based in The Yellow Yard on Palace Street and is the perfect spot to sit back, relax and get lost in a cuppa. These guys source their coffee beans from Bailies in Belfast and whether it's a sunny day and you need an iced cold latte in their yard, or a miserable day and you need a large hot Cappuccino, St Jude's have got you covered with coffee served up in their little branded take out cups or alternatively in their simplistic coffee mugs, surrounded by rails of vintage clothes and book-packed shelves.

3) The Limeleaf Cafe

The Limeleaf Cafe or #CafeCulture is one of the newest coffee spots to emerge onto the independent scene in our city. Since opening they have become a very popular place to get your daily dose of caffeine. Sourcing their coffee from 3fe in Dublin (who are one of the best coffee suppliers around) you won't be disappointed. Served up in a lovely little Limeleaf Cafe mug, made locally by Moville pottery, with the perfect view!

4) Gwyn's Cafe & Pavillion

Not quite in the city centre, but tucked away in the newly regenerated Brooke park, you'll find Gwyn's Cafe & Pavillion. The cafe looks down over St Eugene's Cathedral and is surrounded by beds of flowers in almost every colour. You can have your coffee sitting inside or outside or if you fancy it you can get it in a takeaway cup, and enjoy it as you stroll around the park. Perfect place for a coffee on a summers day!

(Not on card)

5) The Pickled Duck Cafe

If you're a tourist or visitor to the city, The Pickled Duck Cafe is the ideal place to stop off for a coffee break during your walk around the city. The cafe looks right out onto the Guildhall, the Guildhall Square and the Derry Walls. So although you're having a break, you can still sit down and look out at some of the most popular tourist attractions in our city. Enjoy your coffee inside or in the Pickled Duck Cafe's outside area surrounded by the famous Derry walls, or alternatively, have it to go!

10% off Mon-Thurs // takeaway sandwich & soup/tea/coffee for £5.00 with your Independent Derry Card.

And if you're after a treat alongside your coffee, all these places serve delicious cakes, buns, sausage rolls and a whole lot more...
