There's a new Derry Independent on the scene and if you're into good food and wine at a good price, then you'll be glad to hear this is exactly what you can expect from Entrada.
We spoke with Barry, the guy in charge of this project, and got you some info about what to expect. We know that many of you are eager to know more, and well lets just say that it's all sounding FAB.
If you're wondering where Entrada is, it is situated along Queen's Quay facing the River Foyle and the Peace Bridge. New management have taken over the site where Custom House was once located. Custom House as you might already know has now shut down, but Barry and his team are reopening the doors as Entrada. The goal when revamping the site was to keep as much heritage as possible. If you haven't already seen the building, it has a lot of character and is one of Derrys listed buildings, making it an interesting little place.
Entrada are all about providing high quality, delicious food and keeping things local. They have sourced food from several local producers to create the tasty dishes that will be available to you on their menu. 80% of their food will be cooked in their Spanish, charcoal oven and we've been told it'll all be at a price that won't burn a hole in your pocket. Which is what we want to hear!
Another thing, just to create a bit more anticipation... is that Barry has a few special things lined up with the local producers. But we don't want to give too much away, so watch this space.
What we're going to say next is probably going to make all of you craft beer lovers in Derry happy. Yes. Entrada will brew their own beer. We can't wait to taste it! Craft beer has recently become something that is making an appearance in many of our Derry Independents, and now Entrada will soon add another to the list. The more craft beer the better we say! As well as brewing their own beer, Entrada will stock beer from breweries in Belfast, Portrush and Lisburn and of course stock beer from our very own Derry based brewery that is Northbound.
In addition to the beers that will be available, Entrada will hold a large selection of wines and they are creating a little cocktail menu too. It seems a wide range of alcoholic beverages can be guaranteed here.
So if you're looking for somewhere that has local food and drink, a laid back atmosphere and live music throughout the week, Entrada is the place for you.
