From Waterloo Place to the top of Shipquay Street, you'll find a (steepish) hill booming with independent shops, eateries and more. Stumble across a family run jewellers established in 1979, craft shops in a tranquil village and a cafe loved by many. Here's a list of places your Independent Derry Card can be used along the way.

 

 


The Pickled Duck Cafe

An independent cafe on Waterloo Place, looking directly out onto the Guildhall Square. This cafe has gone from strength to strength since opening their doors serving a delicious breakfast / lunch menu and not to mention the best cheesecakes in town. Cardholders can receive a lovely 10% off Mon-Thurs and the card can also be purchased here at the cafe.
 

 


The Gift Box

The Gift Box sell a selection of gifts for every occasion that there could possibly be. Opening 24 years ago this independent shop has been providing gifts for birthdays, engagements, weddings, new babies, new homes and lots more. D Cooley Jewellers

 

D Cooley Jewellers, the independent jewellers that has been on our streets since 1979 when they opened their first store on Butcher Street. At D Cooley Jewellers you will find beautiful pieces of fashion and designer jewellery, from diamonds that shine so bright they might just blind you to pieces of jewellery that have Derry's history engraved into them. 10% off everyday with your card.
 

 

 


Number 19 Craft & Design

An independent shop filled to the brim of beautiful handmande products by local designer makers. Number 19 Craft & Design is based through the gates of the Craft Village on Shipquay Street.  A shop where many talented makers from both Derry and beyond showcase their products, making it a shop that you can spend hours in whilst you browse and learn about each of the individual designers who sell their products here. Cardholders can receive 10% off items over £100 & 5% off items under £100 (this applies to majority of the designer but not all, just ask in store for more info).

 

 

 


Sass & Halo


Sass & Halo, another independent shop located in the Craft Village and one responsible for creating stunning crowns that are bursting with colour. This is also one of the cutest shops you’ll ever come across, with all of the crowns being handmade in store. Bridal parties, hen parties, festivals, birthdays, or even just a normal day - whatever the occasion may be, you can be sure a crown from Sass & Halo will make you feel like an absolute queen... or king. 10% off everyday with your card (excl bridal orders and orders over £100).

 

 

Claudes Cafe

Claudes Cafe, at the top of Shipquay Street is a cafe that we know is a favourite spot for many people in our city. ​You can expect panini's, baked potatoes, salads and sandwiches with delicious fresh fillings, homemade sweet treats and daily specials. Sit inside or choose to sit outside the cafe looking down over Shipquay Street and watch the city go by. 10% off everyday with your card.
