Walled City Brewery is the first craft brewery in Derry for over 100 years and what a popular spot it has become. The brewery opened in 2015 by a guy who gained a diploma in brewing beer and spent 12 years doing so for one of Ireland's largest beer company's.
Walled City Brewery is situated on the renovated site that is Ebrington Square and they have gone from strength to strength since opening their brewery doors. Gourmet Burger Hut is the new street food van in Derry, inspired by all that the owner has seen working as a chef around the world. GBH opened at the beginning of summer 2016 and has seen repeat custom ever since. Their burgers are the talk of the town, especially the GBH Classic Burger which we are told is the best seller, but we quite fancy all the burgers on the menu if we’re being honest.
All their produce comes from other local independents and as well as selling delicious burgers, the baked potatoes have seemed to go down a treat with the people of Derry. Grand Central bar is a very old bar, in fact this bar is 90 years old, which is exactly what makes it so special. You'd think after 90 years it might have had its days as a pub but it still has as much life about it as ever, if not more. The bar is a small one, with many of its original features still present.
